UYUNI: three days tour from Salt flat (Uyuni) to Atacama

Without Potosí in the plan, the next destination was Uyuni. The bus left Sucre at 9.30am on Monday 17th. It was a direct bus so that I didn´t have to connect in Potosí, just a short stop. This was supposed to be a 7 hours drive.

Already in the bus I saw somebody sitting on what was supposed to be my place, just that she had the same seat assigned in her ticket. Fortunately there were places free and I just sat one row behind. Uyuni is rather a turistic place and in the bus were sitting mostly turists.

My initial plan was to take a day bus from La Paz to Sucre and "enjoy" the 15 hours drive as much as this is possible, however and to my surprise all buses run overnight. This was the last little push I needed to switch plans and book a 50min flight with BoA. The price (around 40€) make it even easier.

The only problem was that there were no flights available for Friday as I had planned and had to stay one night longer in La Paz, flying on Saturday 15th. Because of this I will have to skip Potosí this time.

The bus trip from Puno to La Paz was straight forward, if it wasn´t because of the "out-of-water" onboard toilet. I used the Puno-Copacabana-La Paz route as I wanted to take a quick look to Copacabana, and the bus schedule indicated a 2 hours stop.

The border formalities went without any problems for me, but our bus driver "forgot" to give all pasengers indications on how we should move from one pass control (peruvian) to the next (bolivian) one.
